Small piece of Hardie backer ok straight onto plastered wall?

Sorry, probably me describing it badly. Iam referring to where the back wall of the shower niche will be. And how I would attach a small piece of Hardie backer to the back there. As it's just plaster wall (bedroom wall), I don't really want to screw onto it. The other alternative I thought...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

I bought the straight rigid extension but encountered a problem. The bottom of the back of the toilet has a lip which narrows the opening. It's a back to wall toilet so with where the soil pipe is now, I can't go straight up. In the photo, I've even put the toilet right up against the wall...

Small piece of Hardie backer ok straight onto plastered wall?

Yes I've added rock wool insulation today. The gap you see is where I was planning my niche but as you see, the back of the niche will just be a plastered wall with no studs to screw in to. I was wondering if I could get away with using 6mm Hardie backer just for the back wall of the niche and...

Small piece of Hardie backer ok straight onto plastered wall?

Hi, Installation manual says to apply 6mm Hardie backer onto plaster, it's best to find where the studs are. I'm doing a shower niche which is built between the studs. I was thinking of putting. A small piece (370mmx310mm) of Hardie backer straight onto the plasterboard. As it's a bedroom on...

What filler type to use on this bathroom wall?

Hi on my bathroom wall which is part of an external facing wall, it seems like it's a mix of masonry and plaster. So wondered whether to use internal filler or masonry filler like this please? https://www.screwfix.com/p/toupret-masonry-repair-filler-1-5kg/572pp

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Ignore above, just spotted this one. Is this ok to use and put on the existing grey soil pipe. And then get the straight rigid extension to connect on top of the offset? Due to the vertical offset, would I need to support the additional pipework as it will be kinked going up...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Just noticed the offset is only 10mm which isn't much. I tried looking for 45 degree soil Pepe extension/connectors so I can get the soil pipe popping up the floor some 50mm from there it is at the moment. But I'm struggling to find many places stocking this or it's very expensive. I spotted...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Have you got any experience with the same style connector but with an offset? Just saw this and thought I could do with he pipe being offset a few mms away from the wall https://mcalpineplumbing.com/wc-connectors/rigid-wc-connectors/10mm-offset-extension-piece/

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Thank you guys so much for your help. One last question, I was thinking of getting this toilet (see below) Should I cut the extension pipe so it's just above the finished tile floor level or near the height to be level with the toilet connection point? Difference would be whether to try and...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Thanks for your help. Ive managed to chisel out the hole on the joist so that the water feed pipe can move slightly more to create a bigger gap above the waste pipe. Hopefully I can get the pipe you guys suggested. Would I need to add any silicone/glue to that pipe or just simple push fit?

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Thank you so much. Do you mean same dimensions for both Hugh's suggestion and mine? It seems to be. I was mainly trying to use the one I found to make the soil pipe rigid (as suggested) below floor level. Then as I'm likely to have a back to wall toilet, I would then use a Flexi to connect the...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Is there no way to use the one in my post as the smaller diameter in the middle would really help my situation?

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Could I use something like this? Could work as the middle section of the pipe seems slightly smaller. If so, anyone know of this is a simple push fit or best to use glue/silicone...

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Thanks, it's about 10.5cm I think I will need to have a Flexi due to locations of the other waste pipe and water pipes. Be quite hard to position the waste. The actual gap between the smaller waste and water is about 8.7cm

What to with this toilet waste pipe for laying subfloor?

Hi all, Just relaying new bathroom subfloor and wondered what I should do with the waste pipe so I can make my cut outs on the flooring. It used to be a long Flexi tube connected to this so is it best to replace it with the same? (If so any recommendations) Or would it be best to have a...

50mm insulation ok for a 80mm bathroom stud wall? (rock wool slabs)

Thanks. It's plastered on the bedroom side which I won't be touching. I've made the new wall frame pretty flush now so Hardiebacker can hopefully be very flush to the face. Then will be tanking and porcelain tiled.

Is this gap need filling/expansion foam?

Thanks. Ah I foam the small gap between the end of the stud wall where it meets the external wall here. And/or above the top plate too?
