Or you can brush over it with some self levelling laytex screed or cement slurry to isolate the bitumen and create a substrate that will be ok for the adhesive to adhere to.

Could be a problem with the pvc cable reacting with expanded polystyrene which leaches the plasticiser out of the cable.
Can be a problem and may need further inspection.
Have you had you cavities filled with expanded poly at any stage or have any of the other people that lived there?

I'd strongly advise against pva, I know loads of people use it and it works ok but if it gets wet you may have problems.
I'd use a specific tile primer howtex, bal e.t.c. all do one not very expensive and the right product for the job.
What are you sticking the ply to the wall with? The...
Yes as long as the junction boxes are accesible. But you'd be better off crimping them and taping the crimps with self-amalgamating tape or heat shrink.
Hi carrying on with the work I'm doing I need to tile over the bathroom floor that had lino (or something similar) floor tiles, and they have left a sticky mess on the floor.
Do i need to burn this off or can I prime it with something? Either a specific product or a cement slurry painted on...
To board over I'm going to need to use plugs because its a concrete ceiling......
I may try a product called "smooth it" its designed to go straight over artex.

Hi,

Its block and span and at the moment it looks like its been bonded then artexed.
Can anyone help with the options....

Hi,
Got a bathroom to tile and I'm going to tile over the existing tiles.
They are securely fixed to the wall.
I'm planning on sugarsoaping the existing tiles and rinsing well before tiling, is this enough or should I prime them with a tile primer?
Thanks,
Kev
If your getting someone else to do it, its a PIR you want to ask for (periodic inspection report).
There's quite a bit of work involved if its done properly.
If you ask for one to be done make sure you'll be given a copy of all the paperwork.

Hi,
I've just refitted a jetforce 75 (had to replace the graphite bush).
And on turning it on it just pulses (pump silent pump silent) but no feed is coming through.
With the pump off the water flows ok (both hot and cold), on turning the pump on it just seems to make the on off sounds...
The sparks may just fit the one he can pull the most profit out of!
Any decent sparks should have no issues at all with fitting a customer supplied "quality" unit. So saying an electrician won't fit a customer supplied one is saying the sparks is either lazy or incompetent - of course as long...
You get 2 years guarantee with those showers (european law) you might have to push a bit but we got our one replaced by one of their engineers. Called the helpline he came out and replaced the unit.
Worth a try,
Kev
You can do the 2381 straight off, and thats all you really need, to show your working to the current regs. (as well as experience - competence).
Qualification wise, the 2381 is all you need on paper to be a full time sparks.
I need to sort out an external wall that suffered from a good soaking (leak from bathroom above soaked wall and ceiling).
I pulled down the ceiling and broke all the render off the wall. Its not the best bit of brickwork I've ever seen and the wall is very uneven.
Can anyone point me in...
Your only option is to sign your name or get a sparks to come and inspect it but then your thowing your money away having to pay the council and the sparks.
Bit of a tricky one....
