Hi,

I want to do something with our bathroom ceiling, its artex'd and while retiling the room I want to do something to the ceiling.

Its block and span and at the moment it looks like its been bonded then artexed.

Can anyone help with the options....

As I see it, there are a few

1 metal frame it and put up a suspended ceiling.

2 fix batten then overboard.

3 fix directly to the ceiling and board over (not sure how, either fixings or dot/n/dab??)

I'd like to keep the height in the room so not mad for metal framing it.

Thanks,

Kev

another thought...

Would it be possible to pva it and the coat with bonding and 2 skim coats? (the bonding to take out the peaks).

It is possible to reskim but i would board straight over with longer screws and half inch plasterboards ;)

To board over I'm going to need to use plugs because its a concrete ceiling......

I may try a product called "smooth it" its designed to go straight over artex.
