Floorboard access, instead of JB's can i use WAGO connectors

I downloaded it but swiftly decided I'll take more interest in what actually becomes an amendment.

Are you asking me or telling me? I can't answer it if you are but if you know it is then great, thanks.

Just out of interest, why did you chuck the Ashley boxes? Have you used them before and found them to fail or do you just think they will fail due to their design?

Floorboard access, instead of JB's can i use WAGO connectors

Go with these ones if you're determined to use JB's http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/ASJ804.html Edit: Before the nay sayers start on these I'm not saying they are or are not compliant with regulations, unlike the manufacturers.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to prove your competence though without having at least tried to gain some suitable qualifications as the initial assessment isn't all about plying the assessor with cups of tea and commenting on how dashing he looks in his suit. You need to know a fair bit...

Do I really need to add 'legimate reason' to my answer?

Elecsa will let you join with no qualifications either if you can prove a decent level of competence, you'll probably have to gain the C&G 2382 within a year still though.

    Fault Finding

Yes, anybody can do a PIR unfortunately. Have a read of this http://www.esc.org.uk/safety-in-the-home/advice-and-tips/pirs-explained.html I *think* as it was the landlord who actually ordered the work it's up to him whether you see the report or not but there's no reason why he should withhold...

    Replacing single switch with dimmer

Also, is there an earth cable at the switch? This will probably be sleeved in green/green & yellow or just bare copper.

Ah yes, I apologize for that.

Mira Shower Tripping Out - Cabling Melted (With Pics)

No problem. CPC = 'The earth cable' - Circuit Protective Conductor Harmonized = Our use of Blue/Brown/Green & Yellow cabling instead of Red/Black/Green to pacify our European friends. T&E = Twin (brown & blue) & Earth (green & yellow) :)

Mira Shower Tripping Out - Cabling Melted (With Pics)

I'm sure it's commonplace but that's the first time I've seen the CPC's on harmonized T&E having both no sleeving and being twisted together. Old habits must die hard.

If you can get one of those from the manufacturers that would of course be the best option (it's probably rated higher) but 60a choc block will do the job safely and it's easier to get hold of.

    You'll need 60amp choc block - http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TLCON60.html

    Zs test on light circuit

The light switch has to be closed (lamp on) else they'll be no continuity of the switched line at the fitting, as long as the light is 'on' it doesn't matter how any 2 way switches are set.

    Electric shower cable thickness

No it's not, the length of the cable & how it's installed also have an effect in its current carrying capacity & before you know all that that you can't correctly select a fuse.

    Electric shower cable thickness

If he's just measured the diameter & it's 2.5mm then it could well be 6mm csa, the amount of strands should confirm that. Mind you, even that might not be big enough.
