Thats a great help softus, I did think about bending them a little, but wasnt too sure if I should, hopefully give it a go the weekend. Am I best using some sort of sealer on the thread? I'm worried that if I get a leak I'm not gonna be able to tighten them up, lol.

getting gas to an all-electric house

indeed sounds about right, ours had to run about 28 metre. When the survayer came thought, he didnt believe that we didnt have gas, and wanted to search the house for a meter, muppet. They charge more if there is underground hazards like water pipes (to the front of our house) and MOD fuel...

    p-trap toilets

I had a simular problem, I am replcing a S trap toliet, I am going to be using a "back to the wall pan" with a waste pipe that I purchased from B&Q that bends back in (if that makes sense) the cistern will be inside a modular unit modified to stick out slightly more than it should.

    British Gas / DSC Alarm

Dont BG fit expensive/rubbish wireless alarms? Anyway if its a wired system, can you not share a zone, and wire in series?

    Garage elecs

I remember going to a job to replace an alarm panel, and the mains was wired to a 13amp plug with 6 core alarm cable paired up for L N & E, lucky I checked before I cut the 6 core, I've still got the plug somewhere, hehe.

    CCTV

Yes, and I wont bother again! We got called out to a job to second fix where that stuff was used. Its good in thery, but what happens at each end?? You have to chocblock RG59 to it for the BNC's to the MUX, then depending on the cameras you have the same prob at the other end. And...

    My Bathroom Project

Oh dear what have I started, hehe.... It seemed like a good idea at the time, hot water on demand, and got rid of storage heaters for CH, we've saved a lot on bills, apart from the combi breaking down a few times, lol. Just wanted to make sure I was doing it right before the "You should...

    My Bathroom Project

Right to start off, there used to be a hot water cylinder in our bathroom right next to the bath which had a 22mm copper outlet for the hot water, this was then reduced to 15mm for the basin, then on through the house to the kitchen sink..... 2 years ago we had a combi boiler fitted in the...

    secondary phone points.

I had a simular problem when BG fitted our CH, the phones would ring once then nothing, the same happened to the caller, only ring once, then nothing, apart from that, they worked. I've now run in new cabling, under the boards rather than the carpets, hehe.

optima compact house alarm engineers manual needed

Thats a pain, it would be quite handy to diyers and engineers alike. I have a nice disk with all the scanny manuals on, even obsolete ones, plus if you register you can access them online, most other panels I have to root through my van for them, or talk nicely to customers with old panels, hehe.

optima compact house alarm engineers manual needed

What do you need to change, do you know if the engineers code has been changed?? (you'll need it) There used to be a site that had lots of manuals for download, but cant remember the url. Panels are cheap enough to replace, esp ADE panels.
