Hi all, I went to a job the other day and the customer showed me a PIR from another company. They had failed the lighting circuit due to it being 1.0mm and not 1.5mm running in the loft space with insulation on top. Has any one else ever put insulation issues on a PIR ? TIA

It seems I have been a bit lazy, reg 543.2 - 5, says it perfectly fine to use conduit as cpc as long as each point is connected by a seperate protective conductor, I guess the metal switch plates are a code 2 then as this can not be done with no cpc terminal

Nothing is wrong with it, Although it does pose a problem should someone cut it and change it by adding plastic etc could it be a problem ? This is why I am asking Sorry cant get any photos for a couple of weeks

Hi, If a socket and lighting circuit are using the conduit as a cpc what code if any would this be on a PIR, I was thinking 2 however at the time of installation I am guessing it was acceptable, Also if diffusers are missing from lights would this just be a note on installation or a code...

I am PAT testing the appliances within a burger van, it has four wheels and an engine. I am not carrying out a PIR just a PAT test, it is powered by a generater which I havent seen, I have spoken to him about earths and RCD's to which he looks at me blankly I can only advise him :lol:

yes it is to match although i cant decide yet on original colour as they are over 200 years old. I was going to cast them in my garage flip it over on to a board then let it dry. I have worked in stone industry before but mainly wet cast and mould making so dont know what went into the mix
