I have had two lintels fitted by some local builders, There are 2no metal ones in the brick wall and 5no concrete ones in the stone wall and the ones that have been made from metal are sitting on one course of blue bricks and the concrete ones are sitting on a course of two blue bricks.
When a friend came around he said he thought that all lintels had to go on to two courses of blue bricks. Is he right ? he admits he is no expert. I have building control coming out next week and do not want any problems
