    How to read my meter

Hi, the meter has a sticker 'E7 Heatwise' suggesting you may have storage heaters that take advantage of cheap overnight electricity. This would explain 2 rates but not the 5! A company I worked for had a meter with 3 rates for 'street lighting' - weekdays, weekends, evenings ( I think from...

    Bowed Fencing

Hi, I've used these clips for this very same problem, using 2 clips on the bottom rail. Slid/lifted the fence panel a couple of feet, screwed the clips to the panel's bottom rail, lowered the said fence panel getting the clip to hook over the concrete gravel board, worked a treat. Also installed...

    uPVC Door Hinge Issue

Hi, The hinges look similar to the ones on my back door. To adjust them, I prised off the black caps above and below the hinge, and then an allen key inserted into the resulting gap to lift the door. All the hinges (3 on my door) need to adjusted by the same amount.

    Linsar 32 inch DGTEC-DG320H buggered?

Hi, Try removing the aerial plug from the TV, then retuning - (should remove all stations), then retune again. Might just work. Useful trick when retuning mixes up the channel order.

Hi, No problems with Wiltshire Farm Foods. Used to order them for my father, I then knew that he was having a meal each day that was nutritious. Radiator sizing

Hi, my lounge is 4 x 5½ metres, and the type 22 rad is 500 x 1800 mm (approx 9000 BTU) perhaps a little too large. Could you have a taller rad, as well as a longer one? As Doogle says a 10% or more larger one is the answer. I would also check the rad sizes of all your other rads and rooms - if...

    Removing part of stone fireplace

Hi, I remember building one of these fireplaces back in the 70's at my first home, (Bradstone?). The side extension was an integral part of the fireplace build, however I'm sure a competent bricklayer would be able to remove it, but would have to make good the gaps when removing the toothed-in...
