    soon to buy a 6 bedroom house, 3 showers, 2 kitchens. i need advice on a "rolls royce" central heating system. i've heard i should fit a megaflow system with a possible 250lt tank up in the loft extension. is this capacity enough? we would also like a water softner (Harvey Water Softner)...

    read on the net earlier it was to do with the brilliance of light as compared to mains halogen downlight. mind u elecronic transformers are cheap as chips nowadays. costing anything from £2-£3.

    at the moment we have low voltage downlights in our 3 bedroom house anyway and we hardly ever have all the downlights on at any one time anyway. its also for asthetics. i would never go back to pendants!... even though i know all about reflective light off of the ceilings! just needed to know...

    was just doing abit of basic mathematics..... for low voltage lights (assuming 50w halogen bulbs and 12v transformer) P=IV so I=P/V..... so I=50/12= 4.16A per light fitting for mains voltage lights (assuming 50w halogen bulbs) P=IV so I=P/V..... so I=50/240 = 0.208A per light fitting...
