Ok, sounds good. At the current moment, the ranch style stairs bannister is not present. We plan to have it refitted, which we dont have the bits. We are going to instruct a local builder/joiner to put it back like for like, to stay current with the building regs (Para 1.28 especially).

Rocks1 is correct. Remove the whole soap tray, and turn washer on, look inside and look where water is going. Should drop down into soap tray, drain off into pipe down into drum. FTB

After i posted that, the washer started making a funny noise again, like it was trying to gush out of the powder tray. Can you explain to me what the filter does at the bottom, how is it used and what it does.? I take it this is the same filter that was fitted to the old washing machines...
