    My house has the old ****ty red and black wiring in metal conduits.....however the kitchen has been rewired at some point ...probably when the last kitchen was installed.....it looks well done and wired up to the cu.......its the old style fuse box so no rcd..........the double i want to tap off...

    I took the fuse switch cover off and is all wired correctly.....popped it back on and it worked. .....Then i tightened the screws and it went off again. ........i think the problem is with the fuse switch itself......the instruction manual says it requires a 3 amp fuse so will get the 3 amp one...

    I'm wiring up my cooker hood using the same 13 amp fuse spurred off a double socket however i only have a plastic back box for the 13 amp fuse as this is what was there before. ..........The hood works for a bit then the fuse blows. ......Am i right in thinking that the plastic back box should...

    I need to turn my water off but the internal mains tap is old and half of the tap is broken off........i tried turning it with mole grips but the entire thing turns and water seeps out the thread.........how do i find the out door stop cock or do i need to contact the water board
