What To Do With This Garden Concrete Floor?

Concrete floor is now under a veranda roof so doesn't really get wet (apart from spillages)... I was thinking about tiling it with those floor effect textured tiles (or any other non-slip tiles). What do you guys think? Just want the surface to look nice. Thanks.

Any Chance of Moving Back Box Sideways To Re-Align?

Yes easier but I have checked from all angles and it's the cooker socket that seems (and is) off. My question was more with regards to regs, I mean look at this: That cable on bottom right, will be outside of the back box area if back box is moved right, so considering safe zones etc will...

Any Chance of Moving Back Box Sideways To Re-Align?

Not sure what you mean. The LHS edge is where the tiles stop - that small section of wall you see won't be tiled - it will be boxed to cover the gas service pipes. The incorrect measurements are related to the sockets not the tiles. The tiles are measured from the central appliance (hob) and...

Any Chance of Moving Back Box Sideways To Re-Align?

Messed up my calculations. Just started tiling the splash-back and realised one of the back boxes is not centered with the wall unit - and can be seen easily as being off with the lines of the tiles compared to the socket on the right: As you can see white socket seems centered pretty...

    Back Boiler Ignition Snapped, Fixable?

He's a proper gasman but does everything by the book. Refused to light with a match because of health and safety. I'm not with British Gas, they just did the service and charged £70. It was mostly just vacuuming up. The pilot light was off before but now is on. Yes there is a gas fire too...

    Back Boiler Ignition Snapped, Fixable?

Too late! I serviced AKA cleaned it myself, glued the ignition switch on with hot glue, turned the gas on got it working and purged the central heating. All good now no need for useless gas men that don't wanna do the job/do it badly lol

    Back Boiler Ignition Snapped, Fixable?

OK so 2 months ago gas man came round to do some kitchen work which needed gas to be turned off. Then after he finished he went to the old 1950s back boiler to turn it on again but the ignition didn't work. Asked how the last guy who serviced it (British Gas) turned it on, we said via a match...

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

I'm going to Wickes now to find some solvent weld couplers that will fit into the bottom pipe. Still have lots of that pipe left... 38mm ID, 43mm OD (measured).

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

I did the whole kitchen myself if you think it's bad that I'm scratching my head over this waste pipe I'm glad you didn't see the state of confusion and frustration I was in getting the bloody sink in place! I can assure you it was 10x worse than this.

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

But it pains me to have to cut that shelf :( So I didn't install it yet but I duck taped it at the "right" height: Obviously will need to cut the shelf a bit later... But can someone confirm... seeing as the P trap is upside down, will it cause problems later still now that I've moved it...

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

Seems to be a lot better fit than the other way round but the 90 deg bend is a bit high for the grey outlet  Anyone know of any "low profile" 90 deg bend fittings than won't contribute to length as much?

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

This is the problem with the Mcalpine kit: If the P trap is flipped the other way it is way too low but if it is flipped upside down like in the picture it goes higher than the grey outlet and this part can't be cut down.

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

OK where can I get a P trap that allows a pipe to be connected to its side WITHOUT having an additional junction piece between the P trap and sink strainer? So I can do this configuration:

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

I still don't get it  I need this: That Mcalpine kit linked above is this: Mcalpine kit is unnecessarily long (even cut down), and will need the shelve below cut out (which is already in its lowest position). The new sink is only about half an inch lower than the old one -...

    Wooden Worktop Sink etc...

Yeah I'm definitely going to Osmo it since I already had some discoloration with the Danish oil alone on the other worktop. I just gotta find somewhere that stocks it. I sealed the edges with Danish oil + external wood glue and also stuck HVAC foil tape to the edges touching the wall. Also...

How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

No idea which fittings to use to link up this 1.5 bowl sink waste? I got a bunch of parts from Bunnings but none seem to link all 3. I mean I can visualize it in my head (half bowl waste linked to T-section right before full bowl waste with the tail of the T leading to the...
