Skimmed over some mesh. Yes I assume it was done when the frames were done.

It looks like someone plastered about 2cm using skim and then the rail was secured into it with those humongous nails you get in old skirting boards. When I pulled them out half the wall came with them and it just cracked along the bonding Join between The undercoat and the massive piece of Skim.

The decorator that did this is incredibly unreliable. He’s not shown up 3-4 times to sort some snags. He disappeared half way through the job for almost 2 weeks. So... it’s probably a days job for another decorator?

Yeah, although I want it fixed the decorators opinion and an idea of cost before I settle the carpet bill. I’m tending to agree with you. I wouldn’t have grumbled if the whole job took a £100 more, so that much to fix it now wont bother me.

Probably the HDMI would, bit not the power. It’ll move a little in the trunking so it won’t break the plaster work. I’m unlikely to want to change the cabling tbh. If I do I can replace the cable ends myself.
