    Removing old BT boxes

I have two old internal phone installations that have no external wiring. I’d like to remove them. However the cables just won’t come out of the wall in the house. Is it ok to just trim it inside, pin it in the brick and plaster it up?

    Power cables in the wall?

The cabling fits in standard trunking and the wall is thick enough to bury it and leave 6mm for plastering. My original plan was to run that with one of these on each end electrosmart White Single Gang Brushplate with White Brushes/Brush Strip Wallplate/Wall Plate/Faceplate Cable Tidy for...

    Power cables in the wall?

i have a ceiling mounted projector and I’m getting the room plastered and painted. Instead of putting a new socket in I was going to run the cable in the wall in some trunking to the nearest socket, pop out of the wall and into the socket. I’ll use over- rated cabling to make up the power cord...

    Sliding doors issue with fillet

I have sliding wardrobe doors which end in butting up against a small fillett. My partner has developed a habit of slamming shut this door which is moving the fillet and plaster work and is developing some cracks. Other than divorce, anyone know how I could reinforce or slow the door down...

    Bad Roofing Job?

    Bad Roofing Job?

Roof system? you mean like "Cure It". They've said it's fine other than the cement, cureit say you should use a GRP cureit flashing system. The original roofer is coming back and adding flashings. If it lasts 5-10years I'll be happy. At which point, if it's flat I will do 3 layer felt system...

    Bad Roofing Job?

Anyone know how to do a drain? Is it as simple as drilling out a hole in the back wall with some guttering and lead over the bottom?

    Bad Roofing Job?

Anyone think I can do the lead work myself? It looks pretty straight forward to grind the pebbledash and cement off, chase into the brick and then put the flashing in and remortar + sealent + patination. Even the parapet wall capping doesn't seem complicated, although the cost of the lead isnt...

    Bad Roofing Job?

It's not like for like, if previous roof was fitted under the drip of the parapet and the addition of the 45 degree OSB and the cement fillet below the drip, now means heavy rain fall will run over the cement and behind the OSB and then into my room...

    Bad Roofing Job?

That is what they and other roofers have suggested to fix it. The pointing on the parapet is pants they say and is where the leak is coming in. But, want to charge me. Seems to me like they didn't do the right job, but not being a roofer and my quote not saying ' lead flashings and fibre glass'...

    Bad Roofing Job?

the roof is guttered on the edge with no upstand, it is very close to the neighbours house, but enough space for guttering. That was there before it was fibreglassed. The leak is under the centre front parapet wall

    Bad Roofing Job?

Had our flat roof done. Nice looking fibreglass job, but it's been leaking in a spot roughly in the middle of the front wall (below the parapet) I currently think it's a bad job and water is coming in the where the fibreglass meets the wall. Maybe no real trimming used?? Would like as many...
