Hi folks: Is there anyway the cross timber on this A frame can be removed and what would be involved ? There are no solid walls in the cottage just timber frame with lath & plaster. The roof is welsh slate. Thanks.

Get the heating running for a while then turn down the thermostat under the boiler and see if it shuts the boiler off. He could have left the stat out of the boiler and the system is overheating ?

I fitted and converted a lot of these boilers in the late nineties and it is pretty straigtforward. Does your boiler work ok on central heating ? If so i would check D.H.W temp probe first .

I have only ever fitted system boilers where there is a lack of flow and not suitable for a combi. The last one was in a B&B with multiple H/W outlets so i put in a Firebird (oil) boiler with a twin coil cylinder ready for solar. A system boiler heats your central heating system directly and...

I would go with Nigel...pump not switched on/fuse ? The towel rail is prob on gravity and don't need the pump to get hot.

If the boiler is switching on & off i would look at modulating coil on the gas valve first.

It is loose in places but there is only a roof space above so won't get walked on to much. I was thinking of getting up above the loose bits and pouring some wettish plaster over the lathes from above. would this stiffen it back up ? thanks:

Hi: This ceiling is cracked all over and i have raked out some of the cracks. Will it be ok just to plaster or easyfill the holes or would a new ceiling be better ? It is a lathe & plaster ceiling about 100 years old. Thanks:

Could be the coil inside the cylinder has split.

Take no notice of them. Most of them have only done a six week course themselves. I done Bangor in North Wales when ACOPS came out in the Nineties and can recomend.Is that near you ? Best of luck.

A Primatic cylinder or a Fortic Primatic.

Pull out the oven and have a good look. You would be amazed how many hobs were installed on flexi LPG hose.
