    Remove the programmer from the back plate and ensure the switch on the back is set for a Y plan. The switch on the back should be set for P for pumped.

    Which reset are you trying? Apart from the burner reset, There is a boiler limit thermostat which has a reset beneath the plastic ca;p on the control thermostat. Trying to fire with the photocell removed will still need the photocell to be obscured.

    Riello pumps are notorious for leaking from the shaft seal when running. This creates a smell, but the heat of the pump and motor evaporates any leaks. disconnect and remove the pump to check.

    If you can see spark through the peephole, then so can the photocell. This can give a false flame signal that causes lockout and stop the solenoid valve opening.
