    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Hope this helps, taken from the for sale advert. There isn’t a cill on the decking, the frame just sits slightly higher

Suggest what style of door and panels to use

I like the colour but will look better with the cream frame. Really needs glass in the door though, even with side panels I find it looks odd.

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Sorry, I missed your reply. My opening door is on the far left looking out into the garden. It hinges on the 2nd door and then utilises two release handle to Fold the doors across to the right. They are large doors but hinge very well. We changed the lower seal as it scrubbed the bottom of the...

re pointing a house, whats the cost?

Brother in law had his two bed semi down last year and it was perhaps a bit more. Done by one man and took a week. His next door neighbour employed someone else who turned up with three of them all with grinders and did the same work in a day for less. Wouldn’t hurt to get a few quotes is my...

    Shower tray replacement

I’m not sure you have many other options without knocking the space about. I would use the approach you have suggested providing the tiles over hang the Tay and you can seal sufficiently

    New bathroom floor opinions.

I am not sure what this thread is about!! Did you install the tiles and are looking for feedback on the quality of your work? Or did you employ a professional and are unhappy with the work and therefore looking for a second opinion? The pictures are taken too close to fully assess the tiling...

    Making use of loft space

Are you using a fire escape ladder upnthe outside of your house. Struggling to picture your intentions without more information

Which Draught Excluder seal would you go for?

Does it have a channel in the frame to take one of the P, E or I types of seal? You need to know the height of the gap you are trying to seal and then the width of the channel to locate the seal. You can then simply select the right type to suit. If you don’t have a channel you are most likely...

Which Draught Excluder seal would you go for?

I would choose the one that fits my door. But this won’t help you if you have a different door. Some more background information would be really helpful.

Building Regs Certification - Suspended floor insulation

I installed Knauf 200mm insulation under my ground floor a couple of months ago. I used plastic netting to hold the insulation in place. Wasn’t a fun job but believe it to be worthwhile. I am surprised BC would need to be notified but I wouldn’t declare it on an EPC anyway. More bothered about...

    Cold Kitchen Floor

Could you fit a plinth heater? If not, you will need to carefully lift the tiles. Then assume you would need to remove the screed to maintain floor level? Would look to identify the pipe run then carefully chip it out

    door frames

Google is your friend...... Generally door frames are used for external doors and door linings or casings for internal doors. Door casings are supplied with an integral doorstop, whereas door linings have a 'loose' door stop that has to be fixed to the lining.

Lounge Floor renovation and repair - New for old Boards

Sorry I can’t advise on the exact length of time. Wood will move anyway and as it is nice and dry I personally think 7 days would be sufficient. That’s my opinion in a non professional capacity.

    Kitchen worktop holes repair

Would try a hole saw and cut some similar size plugs from some old laminate and glue them in place

Lounge Floor renovation and repair - New for old Boards

I would personally try to leave for 1 week. Laminate is usually 24-48 hours so I would hope that will be sufficient. I have used the floor tire screws which are blue. Same idea but obviously not very discreet. Worked very well and i screwed them in next to the original nails

    Filthy grout

Got to say, if that was a cleaning issue how on earth did you let it get so bad? Has it never been cleaned? Glad you can see the benefit of some elbow grease

    Microwave sparking??

Is it worth repairing for the price of microwaves these days? There may be additional issues so Personally I would bite the bullet and get a new one

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

I have these doors in my house but 5x 1.2m with the traffic opening on the the left. Had a couple of issues with mine when we moved in but I suspect they were installed by builders not proper installers. Precision aluminium were very helpful and came out to service them and replace some seals...
