door frames

Google is your friend......

Generally door frames are used for external doors and door linings or casings for internal doors. Door casings are supplied with an integral doorstop, whereas door linings have a 'loose' door stop that has to be fixed to the lining.

are or what doors have frames or casins or linins?
A lining has loose stops. You can fix a lining and decide which way the door opens later on.

A casing has a rebate cut into it. You need to know which way the door opens before fixing.

Both a lining and a casing are designed to be as wide as the wall thickness plus plaster finish.

A frame is usually attributed to external doors i.e. 44mm and is a chunkier and narrower section so that it only occupies part of the external masonry, allowing you to seal the frame against the masonry.
