We're removing old plaster and wood work from our 1830's house. Alot of the door frames and mouldings need replacing.

Now that we have most walls down to bare brick, what is the order is which door frames are fixed?

1. Door frame, 2. plater up to door frame, 3. Fit architrave

Or do you fit the door frame and architrave before plastering?

If the former is correct, I assume the frame has to stick out from the wall so that the plaster is more or less flush to it when it's put on?

yep spot on frame plaster then architrave :D

and if your plastering make shure the frame and surounding 3" of plaster are as flat as possible
otherwise fitting the architraves will be a nightmare ;)
