Drilled into rad pipe in wall

Well behind plasterboard at least. Managed to stop most of it coming out of hole, and quickly turned off radiator feed and drained system. Got emergency plumber coming out to look at. Obviously, hes going to have to cut a hole in plasterboard to get at pipe in the first instance. More...

Quote for decorator - 5 days (large living room, kitchen)

True enough. To be honest, it all needs another coat mainly. And the first guy tried to paint gloss on top of gloss which apparently doesnt work well. Nah. Havent seen their work. Maybe I should have? At least I can refuse to pay if this is crap.

    Building walls for conservatory

Got builder building a conservatory. Glass three sides and wall the other. Wall is brick then breeze blocks inside. Do we have to have this due to building regs? It takes up a 'lot' of the space then. Builder did not make this clear at the time. If we'd known would have opted for glass...

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Ok thanks for clarifying. Been reading the party wall explanatory booklet and I thought it was saying if you build a wall, in effect, up to the boundary then the neighbour could in effect then treat it as a party wall. But thanks for clarification.

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Hmmm. Maybe I've misunderstood but by adding a wall that runs up to a boundary it becomes, in essence, a party wall.

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Although, maybe it is because I am, in effect, creating a party wall? Is this true? Even though its not a wall its just an extra bit of house.

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Been looking at the party wall stuff. Dont think it applies. Both houses are detached. The conservatory is being added to my house and does not touch his at all. Only thing affected is the wooden fence that forms the boundary (and thats attached to my house) which will be replaced...

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Well, I did speak to my neighbour who was not bothered either way. Happy for me to replace the fence with the wall of my conservatory. Forgot about guttering though - of course that would overhang a little I guess.

Conservatory being built - whose fence is it?

Live in detached house. The back garden fence attaches to my house and runs parallel to the house (in a continuation). So looking at it - the fence is on my land. Having a conservatory build and want to replace part of this fence with a wall (i.e. the conservatory). Can I legally do this...

Hot water overflow - Sealed boiler system?

Help. Boiler is making a funny noise and hot water seems to be leaking out of some sort of overflow. Its a sealed system I think - one big boiler and two small bits. Also, any hot water is not kept hot for long. Is it leaking away? Is the pressure too high or something? I can see a...
