    Two lights not working

Not the best on electrics. Two gone at the same time... One is a standard bulb the other a halgen bulb type fitting. I understand the wiring goes from one to the other. Is it possible that one faulty fitting will cause the next one to stop working? If its the next one in the chain or...

Plugs to use for fitting high level large kitchen cabinet to plasterboard wall

Ah yes. Cupboard is from Ikea and I've got a rail with it. So I guess easier to screw into a stud somewhere.

Plugs to use for fitting high level large kitchen cabinet to plasterboard wall

Ikea cupboard so comes with a fitting rail. BUT what is the best plug to use for fitting this to plasterboard wall? In the past, I've used the white plastic polytoggle type. Never really got on with the metal ones. Would these be adequate though or should I be using the metal ones? What would...

    Cutting reinforced plastic bath panel?

Only need about 5mm off the bottom. Instructions say to cut the ends with stanley knife and score along the rest of the way and the bend it back and forth. Not going to be possible with just 5mm. Any suggestions? Going to be a tough job with a stanley knife and difficult to get straight with...

Yes, I guess thats the only way. I just found it strange that they sell you this nice posh cupboard that you've got to cut anyway....

"Back to wall" toilets and flush/waste pipes

Now I've probably missed the obvious here. Bought a back to wall type toilet with a nice cupboard for behind and a concealed cistern. BUT, of course, both the flush pipe and the waste pipe need a gap into the cupboard. Cupboard has got a removable panel on the front but I can't see how this...

Flush pipe into back of toilet bowl - no seal?

Flush pipe from cistern just seems to stick into back of toilet bowl and its not that tight a fit. Should there be any sealing going on? Or because the water is dropping and rushing into the bowl its flowing different way so no chance of leak?

Flexible type to extend 3/4" to fit into top of toilet tank now

To be honest I must buy a new cistern. £35 screwfix for bottom entry concealed one. A lot less hassle I think.... Probably should have checked before I bought the one I've got (from Better Bathrooms).

Flexible type to extend 3/4" to fit into top of toilet tank now

Currently seems to be 15mm pipe isoltaion valve conntedted directely to toilet inlet. Assume this is 3/4" screw thread. Anyway, new toilet is side entry only. What bests approach here? Can I even buy a 3/4" extension like this?

Underlay with water-resistant bathroom laminate floor

Bought some decent laminate floor for the bathroom. Pretty thick stuff - rubber on bottom. Are there any issues with type of underlay that needs to be used for this? For example, any reason why I can't use the thick slightly padded silver stuff?

    Thick laminate and hollow door

Fitting thick laminate in the bathroom this weekend. Forgot about the door. Its a hollow cheap door so I guess Im limited in how much I can saw off the bottom? Is 1 inch about right - if so I 'might' be OK. Any way around this? Is there any way to remove the bottom bit completely, saw the...
