    Snag 17

He said today the job isn't finished when i questioned why the provider had not been notified. Basically the guy is a blagger. He is resorting to having a go at his own timekeeping when questioned about something else!!!! What is not finished is replacing two lights outside with a different...

    Snag 17

Ban, I appreciate your reply but as a customer I took on a Part P contractor hoping that I would then be compliant with BC. I now find myself with an EIC but no Part P paper from the provider. This is beyond the 21 days allowed by the provider for notification. I rang the provider and...

    Snag 17

How much hassle would the consumer get? My guess is a PIR instigated by the provider condemning the install, hence more financial loss for the consumer. Obviously safety is paramount, but at the end of the day the consumer is likely to need some more unwanted housebashing. Jus shows how...

Help, I can't find my stopcock!

Hello, I would insist that the water board fix your outside stop tap. I would tell them you have a leak near a socket and you have been advised that it is dangerous but you cannot fix it till the water is isolated. They'll send someone down as they'll want to cover their backsides when...

    nightmare

When I bought my house, the seller had ripped out all of the tv coaxial cable ends. How much are those? 2 or 3 quid? The OP mentioned no bonding in the property so this should have either been picked out by survey or the wires and clips could have been removed following survey. It is...

    nightmare

OP said some wiring behind sockets was dated 2004 but the pipes had no bonding. So in essence if wiring was done in 2004 why no bonding? Either a cowboy job or it got taken out later. That is assuming bonding was necessary in 2004 or before. I think it is a fair question.

    Liability

I was wondering who would pay out if a spark cut through a water pipe whilst lifting floorboards during a job. Assuming he is insured would the damage be covered by his insurance or would it be covered by the consumer buildings insurance?

    Cordless Drill and Circular Saw

Hi, A few weeks ago there was a link to a special offer by Makita or Ryobi for a cordless drill and circular saw at or less than 100 pounds. Does anyone know if this is still on? I do not want anything fancy, just a circular saw that could cut floorboards. Also I'd like to know if a...
