Hello, Made a bit of a mess when getting rid of air in a radiator. Worcester Combi boiler now reads 0.9 bar when heating is off and 1.8 when on. Last week i put the pressure back to 1.5 via loop. When i did this the heating had been off 1 hour. Can't find a leak anywhere

    Having power during rewire

I did and the funny thing is that all the boxes are thicked with no Xs but the comments are to have a rewire done due to the age of the existing installation and the fact that stuff has been added wired at different stages over the years :?:

    Having power during rewire

there already is an rcd protected cu on the old system which we got in the first week we lived in the house for our protection. i've had two electricians in and they both say a rewire is needed since there is black rubber wire in places and the some kitchen sockets were connected to a cooker...

    Having power during rewire

Hi all, We are having a rewire very soon. The elec said that we will have power during the job as we are stopping in the house. Is this quite common? I originally thought that all the old installations were removed hence you would be left without power. What do you guys do when a customer...

it is a rewire. board not certified properly (to BC) but tested to bs7671 so i have requested to have it replaced anyway so thats why i think service fuse needs to come out. Besides I have asked to have the CU moved to a higher level so tails will have to come out. You don't seem...

    isolator switch

Hello lectrician, I have work planned in two weeks time and UU have a four week waiting list to fit a switch. Either the spark decides to work live (which i assume is illegal) or I have no option but to call off the job. I don't want to pay a lot of money for something that may not be...

    isolator switch

you got me wrong here. I am reluctant to tender 4000 pounds worth of work if our supply is not up to standard. Having to wait over one month for a supplier to install a switch AFTER agreeing a date with a contractor does not seem a good idea hence why I asked the question. Now I will have to...

Hello, We'd like to have a new bathroom. There are two existing layers of tiles which I want to see removed. How much money in percentage would it save me if I ripped out these tiles myself and got someone to put the new ones in (rather than get a professional getting the two layers out...

    boundary stop tap

Hi, I've been looking for our boundary stop tap. There is a little manhole cover kind of V shaped on the footpath outside the property. It has a big "W" with "ductile" written under the W. Is this phone, electrics or gas stuff or could it be the boundary stop tap?
