    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

It reads exactly that! So is this normal? Trouble is my last property had a 20 year old non-condensing oil boiler, it was pretty much either on running like a rocket ship or off. I'm not used to Gas, do gas boilers switch on and off like this?

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

CP1 is reading 14W ABV shut, the open rads are about 2.5kW total All valves are TRV4 auto balancing, heads are off for testing but most of them will be the Wiser smart heads once I'm sure its all working ok.

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

Re-tested again today and the ABV is working fine, I re-calibrated it and then adjusted it. I'm still pulling my hair out with the pump and settings though. The whole system has brand new Drayton auto balancing TRVs, all set per the instructions based on radiator outputs and using setting for...

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

Yes it's getting pretty hot on the downstream, I think it is defintely bypassing.

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

It's a Tower ABBV1 (brand new just installed it) its set to 4.5 at the moment.

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

I'm getting a bit lost with it, these are the curves I was looking at, just re-tested and I'm getting 9W on PP2, with 1 TRV open and a towel rad with no TRV I'm getting bursts of heat but the ABV is opening despite setting it higher.

    Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 Setting?

I have a British Gas 330 boiler with a Grundfos Alpha 2 15-60 130 pump, 15 rads plus vented cylinder. Trying to figure out the correct pump setting, the manual says recommended mode is Auto Adapt but this only runs around 6W and doesn't seem to give enough flow (does Auto Adapt actually work?)...

Auto Bypass Valve - Use top of indirect cylinder coil as the return?

The pipe stat in question is mounted near the boiler on the 28mm pipe in a single brick skin old utility room which gets pretty cold. It appears to be a very basic normally open switch, clamped onto the pipe with no temp adjustment. When cold the switch closes and demands heat using the switched...

Auto Bypass Valve - Use top of indirect cylinder coil as the return?

It is a pipe stat, I just call it a frost stat. I still need to fit an ABV as if too many TRVs close the boiler gives an F26 poor circulation error. I'm going to just bite the bullet and tee the ABV into the HW return.

Auto Bypass Valve - Use top of indirect cylinder coil as the return?

I know its not ideal but its going to be difficult to get to a return. The reason for adding an ABV is the boiler has a frost stat fitted to the pipework next to it, in the winter the frost stat was calling demand from the boiler but the valves were closed, on quite a few occasions in the...

Auto Bypass Valve - Use top of indirect cylinder coil as the return?

Thanks, its an S plan system so was going add a tee between the pump and HW valve and then another tee the other side of the HW valve into the top of the coil for the return as I cannot easily get to the return / bottom of the coil. The bypass would basically create a loop across the HW valve.

Auto Bypass Valve - Use top of indirect cylinder coil as the return?

I need to add an ABV but there is no easy access to a return pipe, is it acceptable to bypass to the top of the coil (indirect cylinder) creating the bypass loop via the cylinder coil to the return?

Ridiculous flaw in the Drayton Wiser system

If you just turn 'follow schedule' off it does stay off, I did that but also unticked the rooms from their schedules, the schedules were still programmed in the system but not allocated a to any rooms. I thought it was belt and braces to turn off follow schedule and also then untick the room...

Ridiculous flaw in the Drayton Wiser system

I came accross what I consider a ridiculous flaw in the Drayton Wiser system which I have requested Drayton to address. I had deactivated the schedules for all rooms while the system was being worked on so no rooms had an assigned climate schedule. The system had been fine in this off state for...

Do you recommend Push Fit Copper Fittings?

No, the only time I use any push fit is for temporary stop ends or adding a temporary drain to flush pipes, I always solder. O-rings break down and can be damaged if burrs not removed from pipes.

    Drain off tails

I bought 2 recently but not until I fitted one that it dawned on me that these are really only useful for draining the rad not the system as they sit higher than the pipework. I ditched them and opted for the usual drain cock soldered into a tee, kind of seems a pointless product, just something...

Converting C Plan to S Plan for Drayton Wiser install

I've not found that at all, if the TRV in a room is below its set point it doesn't call for heat for that room. Perhaps gaining some understanding of how Wiser works might help, the TRVs attempt to estimate the temperature in the centre of the room using readings and an algo, its never going...

BG 330 Gas Boiler Powered on but won't run, no error code

Finally found the fault after tracing the demand switched live through further into the boiler, on the 230V controls interface PCB there are two 100k resistors next to the opto couplers, one was open circuit circled on the picture below, replaced it and all back to normal. I wonder how many...

BG 330 Gas Boiler Powered on but won't run, no error code

Already checked the overheat, button wasn't out and it has continuity ok, cannot find anything obvious, PCB is powered ok, fuse ok, all I get is the water temp reading on the LCD (about 12 degrees), brief whir and puff as its powered on it, then it sits there and does nothing, no fault code and...
