    Upgrade new mains water supply

As part of our new extension I am thinking of getting our main water supply upgraded. The house was built in 1930s and had water meter installed at some point. I did some search on this forum and while I found useful threads about the size of the pipe (32mm, 50mm pipe), I am not clear on the...

    Private vs council Building control

For our new extension build, our architect suggested that I also have the option to go with private BC, unsure if that’s better option other than slightly cost effective? Appreciate your views. Cheers

    Critique my design

Thanks for the input, slight clarification, the dividing line (appears as wall) actually marks the end of the existing building, this wall will be removed from that point onwards it’s the start of the new extension. We are not sure where to place our dining table and living area (settee/TV) etc?

We are planning to build a new 6x6M2 extension. We need downstairs toilet/shower room and a utility room to house boiler/HW cylinder etc. After several discussions/revisions we finally agreed that this might be the best option for us. I guess its never a best design it just what suits you best...

    Solar Panels Questions.

we are looking at the possibility of getting the Solar Panels installed for heating the water, we are not too keen on FIT payments or whatever its called. It seems they are quite expensive to install but i guess its like a investment you need to make upfront to get rewards later? If anyone...

Guys I am hoping to install bi-fold doors for our new extension. We are planning to have the opening to be around 4.5 meter wide. Can anyone highlight the pros and cons of the idea and perhaps what type of door (UPVC, Aluminium, wood) I should look for? I have seen in the pics where doors are...

    help me to decide

Thanks guys for your help, specially Alec1 for posting quite a few posts on the topic. I agree that no one would want to have plumber twiddling his thumb, hence in the above post I highlighted the need to have an inventory. Yes I would like to have UFH (WET) and would want to explore the...

    help me to decide

Thanks Alice for your input. I am slightly confused by above, if I were to tell a locally contracted plumber what I want done then I could do that to the builder/his plumber? I thought the objective was to get quality stuff and the only way I could achieve that is by sourcing the stuff by...
