    soundproof back of fireplace

Thanks, I would be soundproofing the whole party wall. Alcoves - probably a decoupled wall. Chimney breast - M20 panels or 2 x gyproc soundproof plasterboard (to save space). It was just behind the fire in the chimney breast I was concerned about as it needs to be kept to a minimal thickness and...

Ariston a23 mffi eurocombi diverter valve

Thanks guys. Can I use a bit of WD40 on the pin to get it slackened while I order a new one + all seals & diaphram or could it be dangerous (combustable, etc) I pushed the pin in to test (my boiler is upstairs) and the upstairs rads get hot but not the downstairs? The pump is about 18 months...

Ariston a23 mffi eurocombi diverter valve

Hi, My boiler has just stopped heating the rads. Hot water works fine but no central heating. If I leave boiler on for a long time the pipe to the rads slowly starts to heat up (but I believe it to just be the water from the boiler radiating heat down the pipe. If I leave my boiler turned it...

    RW45 or r R5 sound insulation?

Hi, Reading about acoustic insulation between ground floor and first floor joists and not sure how much of an actual improvement R5 is over RW45. I can see on paper the kg cubed but in reality would it be worth it for a domestic dwelling of TV and general talking? Also would 100mm RW45 be...

Hi, I am after wiring my attached garage. The consumer unit as on the connecting wall so I'm assuming I just take a feed from the unit. 1. Am I allowed to do it or do I by law need an electrician to do it. 2. What size breaker should I use. 3. Even if I use the consumer unit do I still...
