Regrouting and re-siliconing shower enclosure - how long to do properly?

https://www.tilersforums.com/threads/grout-silicon-drying-times.20575/ I would never tried to grout and silicone on the same day. It might be the case that the guy only intends to remove a couple of mm of grout though, in which case, it might be ok to do both in one day. Ideally, as much grout...

Regrouting and re-siliconing shower enclosure - how long to do properly?

Removing the grout and silicone is the best part of a day. You can't grout and silicone in one day.

    Dremel for kids?

I get what you are saying, but of the saw types, bandsaws are one of the safer saw types.

    Another Damp/Mould question

I have worked in many properties with no bathroom windows. I fitted a humidistat fan at home because I knew that people would not turn on the light if showering at 9am during the summer. I also knew they wouldn't open the window at 6am in the winter. The humidistat chugged away for as long as...

Can anyone tell me what these marks on vinyl floor are, please?

Point taken. That is part of the reason that I did not recommend cellulose thinners. None of the solvents I recommended should be an issue with LVT.

    Another Damp/Mould question

In the evening, you are exhaling moist air as you sleep and the outdoor temperatures are lower. You could aim a fan at the damp areas. Air bounces around corners, forcing air at them might help as a short term fix.

Can anyone tell me what these marks on vinyl floor are, please?

Hard to tell from the photos. Why not try a series of different solvents? Decorators' wipes, isopropyl alcohol, white spirit, meths, acetone.

Best glass scraper I have ever owned- OLFA

When I first started decorating, I used the cheaper paint/glass scrapers that accept Stanley blades. I was never particularly happy with them. In time my go to became the Olfa BTC1 https://www.mypaintbrush.co.uk/olfa-glass-scraper-btc1 Rather than just a glass scraper, I used it to cut away...

    Dremel for kids?

I purchased my stepfather an Axminster scroll saw years ago. He used it once. He now has a bandsaw and uses that often.

Damp Patch and Slight Darkish Stain on Bedroom Wall

I am only guessing... it could be hygroscopic salts in the old chimney breast. Over time the old soot absorbs moisture during the summer months. Over winter, they leak the moisture in to the room.

    Dremel for kids?

A few years ago I worked for a lovely family. As a parting gift, I gave the kids a cool/hot melt glue gun and a Japanese saw. Mr customer already had a cordless drill. I figured that a pull saw was safer than a push saw.

    Not seeing general discussions

Likewise. Some are clearly political and can be avoided, however, many seem to be innocent and soon become political. Mind you, the same kind of backbiting is often evident on the electrical forum. Joe bloggs asks a question, 8 pages later people are sniping at each other and Joe has ducked...

My local has the price list in the corner of the room. It is supposed to show the price and ABV. AFAIK, it remains a legal requirement.

What sort of damp is this?

Tape 12" squares of bacofoil to the walls. If the moisture is in the room side, it will suggest that it is condensation. If the moisture is under the foil, then, yeah, it is probably damp.

    Repairs after rewire

Image 1, use Toupret TX110 filler. Fill flush with the back plates and then top up as required. Expanding foam areas, use your fingernail to remove a cm or so, then use TX110 over the top. TX110 sets faster than than the regular Toupret filler because it is cement based.
