Whenever our combi-boiler (Worcester Greenstar 28i junior) turns OFF, it makes quite a noise. This is tolerable during the day but it is very disturbing at night when the boiler periodically comes on (presumably to keep things moving or pre-heat the water, not sure). It seems to echo along the...
I'm still having trouble with my radiators. I've noticed it is two of them that are making a noise now (both in the upstairs bedrooms).
If I open the TRV to maximum, it makes the periodic clanging noise that I described in my previous post. However, even If I close the TRV fully, it still...
We are looking to renovate a 1970s staircase. It is the usual style from that time - painted white wood with a darker wood bannister. We would like it done in oak.
I've had a couple of joiners in to look at it, both of whom have presented different solutions...
One suggested replacing the...
I've got a noisy radiator and I'm not sure what to do about it.
Whenever the central heating comes on in the morning, there's the usual clicking and tapping as the pipes expand. I'm fine with that.
However, there's also a regular loud "clank" (perhaps more of a "dummm") from one of the...
Oh believe me, I was fully behind LEDs and clued up to their benefits. However, with one apparently blowing within a week, I'm not completely impressed so far...
Thanks a lot. That makes sense to me.
Can you think of any other reason why the bulb in that position keeps blowing? It is always the one on the end, if that makes any difference? The fitting is positioned almost above a kettle - could that affect it at all?
I thought changing to LED bulbs...
I recently moved into a new house this year. In the kitchen was a 4-way spotlight bar with halogen GU10s.
For some reason, one of the bulbs would keep blowing. We went through countless bulbs over the last few months - both cheap and expensive brands. I understand this is quite common with...
I have accidentally spilt some "Polycell Decorator's Cleaner with Sugar Soap" across my kitchen floor tiles (the container was leaking and I didn't realise).
The tiles are polished black (presumably ceramic) and where the cleaner has dripped on them it has left them slightly discoloured. The...

We've decided to leave it for now. The plumber gave us a surprisingly pricey quote, and we'd have to remove tiles to get beneath the sink (thanks to the previous owners tiling it all in). So we're just gong to use a rubber plug for now!
The clicker plug and cap does screw into the plughole...
Yes, but I'm after ones that look like this (small, round, positionable):

...and not ones that look like this (large, square, limited movement)...

As you'll notice from the Google results, none of them are similar to the ones I am after. Hence me asking if anyone knew of any.
Actually, scratch that. The twin head one has sold out and because it was a trial product, it is not going to be restocked. Marvellous.
Does anyone know any other products like this (single and twin LED PIR spotlights)?
