Could I ask you to have a look this photos...

They are radiators by a company called Faral. Very efficient although a little weird looking. Dont be duped into thinking you need bigger rads. These things chuck out an amazing amount of heat compared to their surface area. Its a very clever design (apparently!) Worst trait is that they...

As Micky said Tony its a totally over engineered way of regulating gas supply like a solenoid, but your explanation may well be right. Stan

Vaillant combi boiler VCW GB 242 EH

Reading my post it does sound silly to suggest a vacuum pump would provide + pressure. Apologies. For some reason I have always called them that, but quiet incorrectly of course. Thanks DP Stan

Vaillant combi boiler VCW GB 242 EH

Older Vaillants are some of the most over engineered boilers on the planet so be careful before you jump in. Any chance you can get hold of someone who knows how to work on them? If it was the ign tranny then you would be expecting a lockout situation which you dont mention or isnt happening...

honeywell 4073 diverter valve. Ist this right.

I agree with your comment Giblets. They would not admit it even if they knew there was a problem. Lets think back to the Potterton Suprima saga. :!: I was certainly aware that older valves seemed to suffer more and Chris mentioned. Stan

Mira Excel EV - part 2

Have you set the high/low pressure adjustment on the back with the red key. Stan

honeywell 4073 diverter valve. Ist this right.

Has anyone got an opinion on the soft water issue then :?: because I have just changed another one this week. Must admit its a rare occasion these days but I still carry one on the van This one wasnt the worst I have seen but it was swollen enough that the valve could not wind to heating only...

    Worcester 240

Tony had a 240 some time ago with similar problems. Under investigation found a lump of melted plastic in the pump inlet that was just catching the impellor! Very poor DHW heat transfer and slow circulation led me to the pump. Dont ask me where it came from or what it was or how long it had...

    Vokera 20/80 R.S Flowmatic - no hot water/no heating

Pump flow switch is sticking(bottom left) When the pump starts the pin should move out and make the micro switch then when the pump turns off the pin should retract allowing power to the slow speed fan supply. Thing is if the pin is stuck out then the boiler will still work but you will...
