ive just built a coal fire in my lounge but the first time i lit it i got smoke coming into the back bedroom from the chimney brest :cry: :cry: but nothing in the front bedroom got a builder round told me to reopen the vents in bothrooms ive done this and cured the smoke problem in the back...

now iv,e made the opening smaller can i fit plaster board around the chimney breast so i can tile it :idea:

i need to make the opening for my coal fire narrower can i use normal house bricks or should i use fire bricks and can i use the fire bricks they sell in wilko,s and do i have to use heat resistent cement :?: :?: :?:

no its not the only problem once you trim it back it acts like a sponge if using it externaly

i did the same make sure your walls are smooth i didn,t rub mine down even though i used grade 1000 lining paper when i put the light on i can see contours of every rough patch looks like a lunar land scape so take your time on the prep work

not being that clever with computers our son has a laptop with wifi then we have a computer with daungle? both up stairs and both xp modem and router downstairs so all i want to do is make it secure gone throuh the instructions and they say left colom click wireless then tick wireless security...
