    Bent truss

Would that not became a big problem at that point? I thought about doing that but I'm kind of scared of making more damage than good If I do it that way, should I fix the brace to the top of the bent element? Also... should I decide that I'm not comfortable doing this myself, what kind of...

    Bent truss

Today I was in my loft as I am in the process of replacing the insulation and I have noticed that one of the trusses is bent laterally. I have bought the house a year ago so I don't know if it's getting progressively worse or not. It seems that there's a knot where the truss bends. Is this...

    Replacing 1mm T+E with 1.5mm

I am moving the switch across a door so I have chased vertically from the ceiling. I will however put a blank plate on the old switch as I will leave the disconnected cables inside

    Replacing 1mm T+E with 1.5mm

I am moving a light switch by about 1m. The existing switch is currently wired with 1mm T+E cable. I have already chased the wall and installed an oval conduit to house the new cable. Now, the thing is, by mistake i bought 1.5mm T+E instead of 1mm. I would thing that there should be no problem...

Two questions about my roof (vent pipe and possibly some sagging)

Regarding the roof, it appears that it is made of two different kinds of tiles. As you said, one is the Redland Delta, the other one looks like a flat tile between the two Redlands. Can you identify which type is it?

Two questions about my roof (vent pipe and possibly some sagging)

Actually, how are the weathering slates fitted? Without the vent pipe inside, is there any risk of it being blown away and ending-up on someone's head. From the photos I've taken it seems like it's just on top of the slates with nothing really holding it in place.

Two questions about my roof (vent pipe and possibly some sagging)

First question: I have builders doing some work in a room at first floor (under the loft) and, while they were taking down old plasterboard, it became apparent that the ceiling had previously been over-boarded. The top layer of plasterboard had clear and extensive water damage but the added...

Wire a junction box like a ceiling rose.

you make me blush sir :D Seriously thought... this honestly ****es me off. When I pay someone to do something and they do it worst than I would have done it myself, it makes me so angry! I do not have the necessary stuff to properly test a circuit. If I have to do something complicated or...

Wire a junction box like a ceiling rose.

Thank you all for your replies. This was very helpful! Here's the final result.. Much better now! Still have to find a way to clip those cables but it's quite hard to move them. I doubt they will go anywhere anytime soon!

Wire a junction box like a ceiling rose.

This would be in the shed, screwed to the wall, so it would be very easy to access. That should not be a problem. In terms of securing the cables so there's no risk of them being pulled out, is there any option? I am running them in a flex conduit so it's pretty unlikely but you never know...

Wire a junction box like a ceiling rose.

Hi, I have bought an empty ip55 round junction box (https://www.screwfix.com/p/schneider-electric-7-entry-rectangular-junction-box-with-knockouts/30356) to fit in my shed (already wired) and I am attempting to replicate the following wiring using a connector strip: Now... I've managed but...
