I have a brick built storage shed /worhshop. It is built back to earth so is never really 100 percent dry. It is rendered out inside and needs a lick of paint to brighten the walls up. What is the best paint to use given that 3 of the walls are full height back to earth and are always slightly damp?

what is the best way to plasterboard the underside of a u/b.? can i dot and dab it. Opening is 2.4 metres wide.

Ive not heard of it before either, as you say we have always sat the steel on the padstones. Nothing unusual about the steel or its positioning, just a normal knock through to open up a dining room/ kitchen, 2.4 metres wide opening. Thought it might have been some new regs i hadn't heard about.

Just had a sketch of a structural engineer showing a u/beam bolted to the padstones with 4 m10 bolts at either end. Anyone come across this before? The wall is single skin so the padstone is only 120mm wide, dont fancy drilling 4 holes in each one.

If im overboarding with 12.5mm boards i use 50mm dry wall screws minimum. 12.5mm board+12.5mm(ish) old plaster and laths = 25mm if your using 38 mm screws youve only got 13mm of screw holding in the joist.
