Hi all. I will be installing a new floor using 2x4 joists. I have been told to attach a joist along the length of the wall and hang the joists off that. What should I be using to attach the joist to the wall? Will Sleeve Anchors do the job or should I be using resin studs? also, does...

setup an electric garage door opener to control lights?

Hi all. Im looking to install a garage door opener (probably the europro 700 from screwfix). This has a built in light that turns on from 2 minutes when you operate the unit, however I would like it to control the main garage lights as well. ...possibly two up/down lights on the front of the...

Suitable Controller for a Dry Element Electric Towel Rail

The rail is in the second bathroom so will rarely be used. It's more the 2 hour function I'm interested in to dry the odd towel off. It's an expensive faceplate to get the function though. And I don't want it turning on/off all the time and wasting electricity..! Any other ideas/suggestions?

Building a porch but the walls can only be 18cm thick! HELP!

The door to it will be kept shut into the kitchen all the time, unless we are going into/through the room. Building a porch but the walls can only be 18cm thick! HELP!

Reading around I think I will stick with the solid block route... it might not be quite as eco efficient but will be much cheaper I think, and stronger... I am aware that plasterboard can dent, but I think that is a risk I am willing to take. I am hoping the layer of insulation between the...
