    Sorry for the late reply only just gt in from work : ( the box is on the inside of the wall,there are no sign of damp but it looks as if the water is getting into the box by running down the cable ,been advised to silicone the seal when they fit the new box hope this sorts out the problem.

    Thanks Joe for all your help,I've been checking the pipes under the floorboards upstairs and can't see any water dripping from central heating pipes also not losing pressure from combi, will have to get some one to check it for me in case i'm missing something,once again thanks for all your help : )

    I have checked the floor and thats dry, there is no sign of water damage to the carpet or underlay,I've just noticed it looks like there used to be an electric socket on the other side of the wall,so I am wondering if the old conduit piping is rusting,could this be the problem ?
