Help with skirting sitting proud of door lining ?

I'd say chamfer the front, had the same problem in my house. You do notice it even after painting, but at least it's neat and tidy. Don't do what one person did for me in another room and bash it with a chisel till it fits.

    Shower pump anti vibration mounts

My Mira mode shower pump is fitted to a sheet of plywood fixed to a stud wall. (yes, could have been purpose made to amplify vibration) You can't really hear it in the bathroom with all the water going. Problem is the rest of the house (and probably next door) can. There are reasons for it...

    Trying to identify this grout

I've bought these gorgeous Montblanc Blue Tiles, but trying to work out which grout to use. I'm aiming to try and replicate the picture here http://aucklands.info/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/blue-bathroom-tiles-style-ideas-montblanc-ceramic-tile-decor-pinterest-factors.jpg It looks like no...

    HAM radio

If you aren't interested in transmitting then you need to look for a wideband scanner. I started off with a Standard AX700 from EBAY, I like it and it's a good unit, I still use it but they are very old hat now. I progressed to a Uniden Bearcat handheld which is great for general scanning and...

    Insulation over LED downlights

Interesting discussion regards fire doors, ours at work are on an automatic catch, if the fire alarm goes off they automatically unlatch & swing shut. As a fire marshal I understand the material around the edge of the door expands with the heat and seals the door. I've never really investigated...

    Insulation over LED downlights

They are screwfix specials https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-fixed-fire-rated-downlight-polished-chrome-230-240v/3141v I don't have a copy of the instructions, couldn't find them online either

    Insulation over LED downlights

From what I've read - fire rated then ok to insulate over - none fire rated then can't be covered, unless you use a hood and then you can. Personally I would have thought heat and ventilation is the issue here. Potentially a fire hazard if they were covered over? What's the solution, I need...

    Insulation over LED downlights

Yes something like that. I don't quite understand it fully. Those LED's are fire rated, but can't be covered with insulation. Which suggests there is some other issue. They do have what looks like vent holes above them

    Insulation over LED downlights

I'm having an upstairs room refurbished. My builder sub contracted the electrical work and the electrician has installed "LAP 3141v" LED downlights. Unfortunatly it was only after the electrician had left that I thought to check if it is ok to put insulation over them top of them. The builder...

    22mm reducer fittings

Thanks for the heads up. I guessed solder ring already has solder in it, and just needs heating up with a blowtorch. I can do soldering with a separate reel, seems a lot easier to use a fitting with a solder ring tho and just heat it up.

    22mm reducer fittings

Presumably this one would also work for scenario one. I might be being a bit thick here, but the smaller end with solder ring fits over 15mm pipe, and the larger end is actual 22mm and fits into my 22mm solder ring elbow? or have I got this ar5e about face...

    22mm reducer fittings

Thanks for the reply, I was just looking at the FLowmasta one, so yes the 22mm end will fit into my 22mm solder ring elbow. and then a bit of copper into the 15mm end for the push fit to clamp onto. 15mm end isn't a solder ring though so some actual soldering required yes? Second scenario, I'm...

    22mm reducer fittings

I need to go from 22mm solder ring elbow, to a 15mm push fit coupler Also From a 15mm pipe to a 22mm push fit coupler I thought I needed a 22mm reducer, but apparently what I actually need is a 22mm reducer o_O If somebody could tell me what part I need that would be helpful, it's a bit...

    Mira Mode Digital Bath Fill

For the Mira Mode Digital Bath filler, Mira say you need a pumped version for a gravity fed system and and non pumped version for a high pressure (combi boiler) system. I can't understand why I would need a pumped version for a gravity fed system though? for the shower yes maybe to get flow...

    New bathroom vanity unit

Well, it's already going to be a little complicated. Vanity is going to be 600mm wide, countertop 1000mm wide with the free end resting on a baton fixed to the wall. This gives both cupboard storage and a free space on the left for laundry basket. The countertop sink is going dead centre. So...

Yes I did think that, and it may yet end up being done that way. Only possible complication is routing the waste. Nice job in the pic
