    Radiator painting question.

Foxhole. Been done in the past. Going water-based throughout the house now. Can't be doing with all the fumes and long drying times anymore. Cheers though.

    Radiator painting question.

Shouldn't??? Not "isn't" or "won't"? Can always change the rad if it goes pear-shaped. Cheers.

    Radiator painting question.

I have a radiator that has previously been painted with solvent based radiator enamel. I've sanded it down and want to repaint it using a water based satin radiator paint. Was just wondering if I should apply some sort of undercoat first? I have some Zinnser Bullseye 123, would this be suitable...

    Acrylic bath repair.

Temporary will do. She has a dish under the leak with easy access to check on things. She just wants her kitchen ceiling replaced and she's a bit reluctant while the leak is present. Will give it a go. Thanks for the assists.

    Acrylic bath repair.

Friend of SWMBO just lost her kitchen ceiling to a leak under the bath. Just been to have a look and it's the corner bath itself that has sprung a leak. No obvious damage looking into the bath. Good access underneath. Anyone got any suggestions for a repair? I've got some Flexacryl(?) roof...

No Deal Brexit - Technical Papers - Let the Stockpiling begin

Since you appear to be just making stuff up, I'll issue the following reply, "Wibble".

No Deal Brexit - Technical Papers - Let the Stockpiling begin

Voted "Leave" and would vote exactly the same if they held a second referendum. All you moaning whingeing "Remainers", know where the ferry terminals and airports are.

    Any suggestions??

Have just got rid of the lawn out the front of the house and chucked a load of gravel down. Was looking for something solitary as a central feature and quite fancied an acer but on reading up, they may not like the exposed, sunny position or the clay soil. Not looking for anything too big...

    Painting over vinyl silk question.

Knowing my luck, I'll be the 1 time out of 10 when it goes wrong. Was just trying to avoid sanding. It's been painted a fair few years. I'll give it a go and see what happens. Cheers.

oops drilled straight through a hotwater pipe *PIC*

Was doing a job for a guy a lot of years ago. Said he was going to be installing sliding wardrobes at the weekend so I marked all pipe locations on the floorboards. Got a call Saturday afternoon, saying that he'd manage to drill through a pipe. You can't help some people.

    Painting over vinyl silk question.

I have a ceiling painted with vinyl silk that I now wish to paint with matt emulsion. I have a tin of Dulux water-based primer and undercoat. Could I just go over the existing silk emulsion with the Dulux stuff and then apply the matt emulsion or would I still need to sand the silk paint to...

Might have been clout nails then. Or it could be me dementia.

    Fixing shiplap cladding to shed

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't galvy nails notorious for working loose over time? Just something (I think), I recall hearing.

    Wallpapering advice.

Had some problems with the concrete gutters a few years ago but had them sorted. The problem could stem from then. That particular wall rarely gets any sun even in summer. Just ran my hands along it. Cold but not damp or tacky. I'll just go for it and see how it goes.

    Wallpapering advice.

Have just removed some lining paper in a bedroom. In some places it literally fell off. We have concrete guttering that bridges the cavity and is a permanent cold spot on one wall, the other area it peeled off easily was behind the radiator. The walls were sized prior to this paper being hung...

    Zinnser Bullseye 123 questions.

Have a tin of this stuff that I'm going to use over some existing oil based gloss. I have some bare wood skirting that I thought I may as well give a coat to. Once applied to the gloss, should I then use a WB undercoat prior to applying the top coat, (thinking Armstead Quick Dry satin), or can...
