    Close valves, disconnect and drain radiator, remove from wall, then as above. Not sure how he could skim the wall properly with the radiator in-situ anyway.

    Many ways to skin a cat, but assuming thats just plasterboard and studwork, Id mark out with a pencil and level or laser and then use a decent oscillating multitool.

    Kitchen tap

    Ensure the washer is there under the tap on top of the work surface. You could also use plumbers mate between the mdf on the underside and the washer before tightening the back nut up.

    Ive tried one similar (floplast i think) which I cut down the length of but the back hits the wall so didnt go in straight. Maybe cutting the waste down as you suggest might help, but then theres no way back if i cut that?

    Tightening old radiator valve

    Wheres it actually leaking from? The drain off point or the spindle? If the drain off, just attach a small section of hose and block the end if you want a very temporary solution whilst you wait the month for a plumber to do it properly.
