    Locks for French doors

One idea was to replace the two bolts that exist with new versions, however these would not be locking. So it is mainly the locking system that concerns me. I looked at wooden multi point locks but I don't think I can fit those in because the door is thin at only 32mm.

    Locks for French doors

I've uploaded some images of the doors. Someone currently placed a flush bolt on one of the doors both top and bottom and also included some other paraphernalia along the way. As with regards to replacing the doors, it would mean I would have to replace the entire frame and I don't want to...

    Locks for French doors

I have a pair of external original (or so we believe) french doors, however the doors are not very thick measure around 32mm. A rim lock that has been painted numerous times currently exists with a very small throw bolt. I have begun to strip the paint from the doors and where I thought...

    New boiler time

Rads aren't too bad, I would say the main mistake was the one inserted in the conservatory. I suspect the system could do with a powerflush/clean but that's my theory. It is a gravity fed cylinder, not sure much more about it, there is a pump to the left of the cylinder in the cupboard...

    New boiler time

The house is a detached bungalow - it has been insulated. The boiler has packed up a couple of times over the last few years, it seems the gas valve has gone on it on this occasion (not quite sure). Also when the hot water is on (not via immersion) the heating comes on - which it shouldn't...

    New boiler time

My father has asked me to look into a new boiler for him. I have a couple of issues with the type of setup to move towards. The constraints are that he does not want to move to a combination system. He currently has a Potterton Kingfisher floor standing boiler which is around 20 years...

    Mitre Saw - buying advice

I just want something for some general use around the house, nothing too fancy, I am not a tradesman. Require that it be able to cut wood mainly so I can refurbish a few things and lay a walnut floor.

    Mitre Saw - buying advice

I have been looking at mitre saws - far too many models to decide. I wanted to get some advice on what people think and which one should I go for. I am looking to spend around the £250 mark - I have looked at the Metabo KGS 254M which I can get at £210. I don't know how good it is (anyone?)...

    Mitre Saw difference

I was looking to getting a mitre saw, not quite decided on which one. I am trying to ascertain the difference between a couple of models but I am unable to see any differences other than the cut depth and angle and also the look of the two machines. Models: Metabo KGS 216M and the KGS 216...
