It's only small but we've had a leak above a couple of years ago and I need to scrape some of the flaky paint away, put some Zinsser BIN on it, etc. The issue I have is that once I've scraped the flaky paint away they'll be a slight difference...

Slim shed needed...advice please guys & girls

Thanks Mottie. When you say flat roof, what do you mean? The corrugated plastic roof (which isn't entirely waterproof by the way) is sloped for rainfall.

Samsung American Fridge Freezer Compressor Standing Pressure

Hi All, Very long story short. 7-year old fridge freezer stopped working. Engineer tested the standing pressure of the compressor which read 1 bar. Said there is a refrigerant leak and advised us to replace the machine rather than the compressor. He said the standing pressure (couldn't check...

Some of my block pavers have sunk...advice needed please

Thanks again for the reply. If you look at the pics you can see that the main patio steps down a little. The curved perimeter was formed from a single course of house bricks, some of which have crumbled (not completely but enough to allow the sand to wash out over time). Is bedding sand...

Some of my block pavers have sunk...advice needed please

Thanks but the fact that it's sitting on house bricks which have started to crumble won't that just cause the sand to seep through again does bedding sand contain cement too?

Some of my block pavers have sunk...advice needed please

Hi All, Our block paved patio is suffering with a few partially sunken blocks. You hopefully can see from the photo what I mean. The step has been formed from house bricks which over the years has eroded and let the sand holding the pavers to leak out. Again, hopefully you can see from the...

Is it the rad stat or TRV that's causing this problem?

Hi All, My son's radiator is either on full pelt or off. If he turns the rad stat off the rad cools down but even if he clicks the stat up to 1 or 2 the rad is burning hot. Anything I should look at first? Cheers Daz

Small plugs - Mains Extension Lead

Hi All, Years ago, probably 25 years ago, I had a mains extension lead (8 gang or so) they didn't use the standard UK mains plug. Instead, you cut that off and replaced it with a plug which was much smaller. It was neat and compact. Does anyone know if something exists like this today? Cheers Daz

Thanks for the replies. I've drawn a sketch (not to scale) of how this plank should look but am unsure, even if I manage to make it, how I'd physically get it in! What do you guys think?

Advice needed on how to laminate around stair post

Hi All, Attached is a picture showing the space for the end of row laminate plank and the stair post with two returns. I've undercut the post by about 20mm to hide the laminate under but cannot figure out how to cut the plank. Any help would be really appreciated. Cheers Daz
