    Purchasing Plaster Trestle

Not really a technical question guys, I have up until now been working 'out of the bucket', but would now like to purchase a trestle. Have been looking at a couple of online companies and they vary in price from about £30 to around £36 inc shipping. Before I go and purchase one, any of you guys...

    Beading on window reveals?

About to re-skim a small bedroom. Should I automatically use beading on the window reveals for a good clean finish, or only use beading if the reveal edges are in a bad state? OR maybe if I decide not to actually skim the 'reveals' then just skim up to the edges?

    Bonding or Easi-Fill??

I have been asked to re-skim a small attic room, there are a couple of "smallish/medium" holes showing the lathes beneath, I was going to use Bonding plaster for these prior to multi-finish, but none found in B&Q or Wickes. Could I use Easi-Fill for these holes. Thanks.

Should I learn to skim, call someone in or line?

I attended a 5 day intensive plastering course locally. Yes they can teach you the basics, I am now re-skimming walls and been lucky enough to pick up private jobs, so the jobs have nearly paid for the course! BUT I am in NO WAY a plasterer, I know there are guys on here who are Plasterers and...

    Filling over lathes

I have been asked to skim over some old walls. A couple of holes show the original lathe wood strips beneath, so quite deep. What would be the 'filling of choice' prior to skimming. I would normally use Hardwall for masonry/brick but I guess not for lathe?? Possibly Bonding plaster?? Thanks.

    Bonding coat/multi finish

Still only a beginner so loads of questions! Am I correct in saying a bonding coat would be used on a ?? artex ceiling prior to a multi finish skim. Also I have been asked to skim a few walls for a friend. One part of a wall has broken right away (old plaster) sounds like down to brick. Would...

    Re-siting washing machine

I have been asked by a female colleague at work about re-siting her washing machine. Instead of the 'normal' position ie next to sink, she would like it at the end of the units, at a guess about six feet (maybe more)away. I take it this would not be possible because of the sink trap connection...

Thanks for that Richard, no I haven't anything in mind, but being a newby to plastering I still have a lot to learn. At the present time my jobs have been straight forward.

    Bonding coat

Never used befor, When would this be used Seen it mentioned in another post regarding a backing for skirting boards if the plaster beneath has pulled away? Is it the same as Hardwall?
