Just an update:
Tried to contact Vaillant so far without success but will try again tomorrow.
Boiler was serviced every year.
I am not a confident diyer unfortunately so wouldn't consider changing a valve myself.

Thanks for your answers and help. The pressure goes up without the heating being on by 0.1 bar (my mistake). The filling tube is not accessiable it is build-in.
If Vaillant don't do a fixed repair price on an old boiler we will have to continue our search for a competent eng. which is anything...

Have you considered a pull up bar which can be put up inside a door frame? Our son had one of those. He bought it at Aldi/Lidl when it was on special offer.
I recently took it off and the paint work on the door frame needed...
We need some help with our garden wall which borders a lane. The original wall and house are from the 1930ths. Apart from repointing should some bricks be replaced and what sort of repointing mixture should we use?

We have a lovely stained glass window in our hall (1.20x2m). The previous owner had a sheet of acrylic fitted permanently on the outside of the window. It was done about 20 years ago, never had a problem with it.
