We need some help with our garden wall which borders a lane. The original wall and house are from the 1930ths. Apart from repointing should some bricks be replaced and what sort of repointing mixture should we use?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like someone has already had a go with a very strong cement mix, but the original may well be lime mortar. Search some threads on here regarding how to tell.

For the damaged bricks, cut the joints out with an old wood saw if the mortar is soft, and turn them around.
