Hi

im in the process of replacing my bathroom toilet. The new toilet won’t cover where the old one went so there is a gap around it. The original floor was screeded and had vinyl fitted.

it’s to big a gap to caulk.

Any other way to cover the gap?

1. Replacing the vinyl is the best option. With a patch you are always going to have the possibility of moisture getting in, and unless you are really good, it won't look right.
2. If you do replace the vinyl, consider taking the WC out again while its laid, so the new goes underneath.
3. If necessary, consider also temporarily removing wash basin if a pedestal or floor mounted cabinet type.
