    Karndean & Levelling Compound

OK cheers. It’s coming up fairly easy over the painted bit. Just a ball-ache having to do it when we told the builder what type of floor we were having!!

    Karndean & Levelling Compound

How do I go about doing that? It’s a common slab so surely it will have a DPM across all of it otherwise moisture could get up through the garage slab and into the house??? Second opinion came round today and confirmed it so I’ve started scraping up the compound that’s been put down :(

    Karndean & Levelling Compound

It’s an integral garage so I was under the impression the DPM covered the entire ground floor

    Karndean & Levelling Compound

Hi, thanks for your post. I’m not sure if he primed the floor (I doubt it) but I will ask him. It’s a 3 year old house so I’m fairly sure it will have a DPM

    Karndean & Levelling Compound

Hi all, We’re part way through a Utility Room project and have had a local company round to quote for some Karndean flooring to match our existing Kitchen/Dining Room. The guy that came round was very concerned with the levelling compound that the builder had used as in his opinion it was...

    Vaillant Home Regular 15 Start-up

Hi all. I’m having some work done at my house that’s involved taking a radiator off. I isolated the radiator last night so it would be cool this morning and the heating was working fine last night/this morning. I’ve come home to a note from the builder saying that the boiler needs...

    Edenhall Supplier?

Hi, I’m trying to source some Edenhall Darlstone pitched walling blocks in buff to fill in a void that’s going to be left by the removal of an external door at my house. It’s a (relatively) new build that’s 3 years old. I’m moving the door further down the wall it’s currently fitted (so it...

    Below Ground Drainage Connection

Cheers guys. I’m still pricing it all up really to decide how much to do myself or whether to get a firm in to do it all (main reason for it is for somewhere to put our wet/muddy pup after walks!!) I’ll get in touch with BC and see what they say. Thanks for the help

    Below Ground Drainage Connection

Hi, thanks for the reply. To be honest I’m not too happy with the idea of capping a drain and then having flooring fitted above it (I had some sort of a hatch in my mind for this option) but didn’t know if digging out a channel in the existing slab to move the pop-up was realistic, or whether...

    Below Ground Drainage Connection

Hi all, I'm looking at a new project at home to form a Utility Room by stealing some garage space. Looking to change from this To this I've drawn it all up and started cutting out bits of boxing etc... to make sure my plans work and identify where the services run, BUT I've hit a...

    New Kitchen, RCD question

Thanks for your post. Of course if presented with an option that is safer, then in my opinion it is the best course of action (not just for my mother but anyone else’s too!) The question was does it need to be done to comply with regs as my Mum’s first thought was “is this guy trying to pull a...

    New Kitchen, RCD question

Fair point re the under-cupboard lighting which would constitute a new circuit and therefore warrant the RCD. She says she’s happy with the sockets she’s got at the moment and doesn’t want any more appliances than what she’s got Now (apart from changing the oven from gas to electric - but...

    New Kitchen, RCD question

A new CU wouldn't involve re-wiring the whole ring though would it?? Surely it would be tested and if sound the wires can stay? My thinking was a new load on old wiring might put it in danger

    New Kitchen, RCD question

Hi, fist time posting in a long time on here. My Mum is getting a new kitchen to replace her +38 year-old one!! She’s not wanting any sockets moving or any new circuits. There is an electric cooker switch already wired in but her current oven is gas which she will probably change to a new...

    New-Build Integral Garage Door

Hi all, first post in a while but here goes! I have recently moved into a new-build home and we have an issue with the integral garage door. Do to the position of the doorway into the garage being neat to the front of the property (it's just before the stairs in the hallway) if the main garage...

    Patio Re-pointing

Thanks. I should have added that I'll re-bed any loose flags before pointing. Looks like I should re-evaluate the slurry products then!
