What has gone wrong with my unvented system?

That's OK - I have him ready to attend (but not until after Christmas, for now I'm manually turning on the immersion and then turning it off after a while - I can't leave it on unattended otherwise water will go out of that tundish). I'm really just wondering why the excess pressure is being...

What has gone wrong with my unvented system?

Hi all - I'm hoping someone here could provide me with a bit of insight, advice and guidance as to what might have gone wrong with my home hot water system (central heating remains fine). The system was last serviced in Feb 2017 but - at the moment - the system is not producing hot water by...

Buffing, polishing a large area of wood on a bed

It is always the case that no-one here tries to answer the question asked, but - instead - answers the question they want to answer? :D I am where I am, right?

Buffing, polishing a large area of wood on a bed

It's in a kind of 'tray' or recess - the mattress can't move around. Thanks though.

Buffing, polishing a large area of wood on a bed

Hi all, I've got a bed with a solid wooden (pine) base instead of slats - so it's solid sheets of wood the mattress will sit on - and I decided to wax it so at least it didn't look completely bare (even tho' it will be covered). I've applied the wax and the colour has changed nicely and I hope...

    Looking for an explanation

I am sceptical that you understand anything. You're certainly late to the party in any respect. Best to jump on active threads if you feel you wish to offer assistance, not come in to gripe about the advice given after a satisfactory solution has resulted through the advice of others. Your use...

Struggling to understand why you feel you have the right to jump on this thread in this manner. Some kind of complex you have, no doubt.

Gents - I'm happy to report that setting the black dial to 60° and turning off the immersion has resulted in good showers and no blowing-off. Thank you for your guidance.

    That's also useful to know.

    Looking for an explanation

Hi - thanks for all this. It wasn't the emergency guy who changed that dial, setting it lower, it was the guy (different guy) who carried out the recent service of the boiler and cylinder - but I think I see, now, what was happening there - that's good to know - although it ended up at 40°, not...

    Looking for an explanation

My thinking had been this... Lack of pressure / force in the showers was due to their thermostat not being able to provide enough hot water in the mix, due to the boiler setting being at 40°. Once I turned that up to 50° and turned on the immersion (not knowing any better) the shower pressure...

    Looking for an explanation

Intriguing, I'm just looking at that certificate, and it says - in Observations (if any) / Recommendations (if any) - "hot water thermostat reduced to 50° C, checked immersion settings for temp" - but that's not where it ended up - it ended up at 40° C - and not by me doing it.

    Looking for an explanation

Absolutely! I have a DOMESTIC UNVENTED HOT WATER STORAGE VESSEL COMMISSIONING/INSPECTION RECORD for the service done by a qualified fellow in late Feb.. Still unsure why it was recommended to turn that black dial down to 40, from 50, though (I may well ask him)... anyway, it's up at 60 now and...

    Looking for an explanation

This was my uneducated thinking, it's good to know it might actually be a possibility (I mean, I was potentially thinking along the right lines).

    Looking for an explanation

Thank you all, that's very helpful and I've now left the immersion heater off and I've moved the black dial to 60 - the boiler has fired up to handle that call (as central heating is not being called for). I will monitor and test how the shower is performing tomorrow. I've included a bigger...

    Looking for an explanation

Hi all, I moved into my current house in 2014 and for around 2 years my central heating and hot water heating worked perfectly fine. Some time in the middle of last year I had an 'incident' where I heard lots of hot water gushing out of an safety overflow pipe and out into the waste. I called...

Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ losing the time all the time

Interesting that the panel time doesn't seem to be continually running away from the actual time, rather seems to have settled at an offset of 6 hours or so... I may continue to monitor this: RESET HERE Actual Time 07 Sep 2016 16:26 07 Sep 2016 16:42 09 Sep 2016 09:23 10 Sep 2016...

Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ losing the time all the time

The installer and I had a chat and we decided to monitor it... last week I reset the time and then I will have the real time and the panel time recorded at irregular intervals; just to see if it sheds any light on the situation (which we both accept it may not). Apparently, Pyronix has told him...

Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ losing the time all the time

My installer has said more or less exactly the same thing... he's installed many of these, not once has he had that problem reported. His offer to try a new panel might do it. I am loathe to start a stupid conversation with Northern Powergrid... "I think my mains supply is contaminated!"...
