Just a thought - do you have to have some flow for the PRV to work ? Is there a difference between static ( no flow) and flowing pressure. I.e. if you actually run the hot the PRV should do its job.

If you have a pump and a three way valve OR a pump and two valves then your system is fully pumped. Some older systems the HW side was gravity circulation (nothing to do with gravity fed) and you could not have separate CH times hence the option on the timer. Anyway what was your old timer set to ?

To undo it you have to move the toilet forward which involves disconnecting the cistern etc. Then you will see the size of the old toilet connector. You could just try twisting the existing connector in situ but it may make it worst. Does the pipe going out slope away ? - check with a spirit level.

I think the reason for checking the feed and expansion arrangement is that if you put the pump in the flow, it may pump water up into the expansion tank continuously.

It's me the OP ! The ridge/ripple caused pooling and trapped debris and moss. I cleared the moss etc and it's a bit better but still leaks. The leak is all along near the ridge but also appears further down at the next joint. I think the water seeps along under the felt. I will try fixing when...

My shed roof felt has expanded and pushed up a ridge right across. The edges were nailed down so could not move causing a ridge on expansion. Any suggestions on how to smooth out the felt ?

You could bypass the dvd altogether. Get a VCR and a digital converter which will convert the video to digital files on your PC. This type of gadget are also called a video grabber. You can then copy and email the files to your heart's content.

I think some IHDs have a WiFi option that allows you to pull the data into apps in your smart phone , tablet or pc from the IHD.

I agree that the smart meter part is the more important item if the supplier can read it - otherwise they ask you to read it and that is not easy as you have to get closer and press buttons to work the display etc. Anyway some meters are remote and difficult to read so an IHD helps.

It seems that IHDs are failing across the country when you move supplier. First time we moved SSE to EDF there was no problem the IHD kept showing our usage but the price was wrong. I suspect EDF didn't bother to load their tariff onto the IHD. Next time, now, we moved to EONnext and the IHD is...

Yes thanks - Looks like I'll have to rewire the cable to the pond in mains cable. I am a bit wary of mains around a pond but I will have to I suppose.

Hold batten up to wall and mark high points where batten touches the wall. Plug and screw to wall at marks but don't tighten screws fully. Fill gaps behind batten with mortar or filler. Tighten screws when mortar set. Voilla !!

Our 24v pond pump has packed up , it is the Hozelock 1500LV. Do they still make these ? I can't find any on eBay or pond shops. I need the 1500lv as it runs a waterfall. It comes up on searches but is always out of stock.

The flooring is a floating floor so is likely to expand / contract. Also it will move when people stand around the hearth. I would think the hearth will crack eventually.
