I’ve read on another thread which states the Nest thermostat will modulate the water temperature.
https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/nest-thermostat-with-open-therm-on-worcester-bosch.554690/
guy called Jackthom mentions this.
Is this what is happening to my system? The radiators gets hot...
Thank you for all the replies guys, I’m an absolute noob when it comes to your questions so apologies for my naivety.
the boiler is a Worcester Bosch 8000 Greenstar Life Gr8300iw 35 C Ng (that’s what it says on the warranty certificate lol). I’m not too sure what open therm is, the boiler is a...
Hi guys,
I seem to have a somewhat weird problem.
I’ve recently had a new radiator system along with a new boiler and Nest thermostat installed.
The problem is quite a weird one so I’ll explain the best I can.
The thermostat is in my hallway and my house is 2 floors. Lets assume the ambient...
It’s been painted about 3 months ago lol
yes looks like the carpet has brushed down it. Is this something I can blame the carpet fitter on or is it expected?
Hi guys,
I need some advice ASAP. I’m having 6 rooms in my house carpeted after a house renovation. The fitters are fitting the carpet and now there’s marks absolutely everywhere on the skirting.
the skirting has satin wood paint on it, the carpet fitters are saying the paint is very thing and...
Ahh I had a feeling that’s the case,
my thermostat is in the hallway which reads 17°c at best but the bedrooms get warmer, so the rooms are getting hotter than the hallway and switching the rads off I guess?
Hi everyone,
After some advice,
I’ve recently had a new central heating system and boiler in my house. I’ve had the Nest thermostat 3rd Gen put in with Danfoss Ras-C2 TRV and lock-shields. The system hasn’t been balanced.
The thermostat is switching the boiler on and the rads are getting hot...
They must have changed it, as my underlay said ‘fit this side down’ on the foil side.
the manager did get in touch and said it will be absolutely fine with the foil side up
I asked interfloor to provide a further explanation, and this is what they said:
Good Morning Muj,
I have been passed your query to try and help you out. The underlay is preferably fitted with the foil side down as this puts the damp proof membrane directly on the sub floor. However as...
That’s my exact same quarrel. Number one I’m not sure why the fitter laid it foil side up and number 2 why the manufacturer is saying either way is fine?
When it blatantly states ‘this side down’
Update:
so I got in contact with interfloor who make the Duralay Timbermate Excel and they have advised me it can be laid both foil side up or down either way the vapour barrier will work.
apparently it’s an even split between people laying it foil side up or down.
weird that, considering it...
I didn’t watch him lay as I left them to it, my house is a renovation property and absolutely freezing. I watched them start off and left them to it so not to get in their way.
i suspect the apprentice laid the underlay but I’m confused why the main guy didn’t tell him to put it right
so in...
My laminate didn’t require waterproofing joints as it’s a waterproof laminate by Quickstep.
my fear is when they’re lifted back up they’re going to more than likely going to get damaged :/
Hi guys,
I have had my bottom floor in my house laminated recently With Quickstep Laminate. I had ordered the Duralay Timbermate XL underlay which my laminate fitter has put down over concrete floor.
After the job was complete I realised the underlay was put down foil side up, from my...
Hi everyone,
I’m currently in the process of purchasing quartz for my kitchen. One which has caught my eye is the Carrara Misterio by Unistone.
The company I’m looking to purchase from can supply the Unistone but also do their own Carrara which is cheaper.
My questions are, what are the...
