Low water level in Toilet bowl.

Hi folks, I just opened the drain cover, and asked the kids to flush both loos and no water was seen coming through! Not sure where water goes. The white substance is not white but the original colour of the drain, the end is sealed by hard plaster like substance. I attach photo. now you can...

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

As I now understand, the manhole should have two exits for water but one of our one might be blocked by these white substances.

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

When I used the garden hose to clean up some soil debris in the manhole, the water seemed to clear away. I remembered when I was inspecting the manhole yesterday and asked my daughter to flush as a test, hardly any water came through the pipe. Can I use a large plunger in the upstairs loo?

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

Hi Terry, Did this just now and the upstairs gurgled each time I emptied the bucket with the flush. After the first attempt, the water level has gone even lower on toilet bowl after the gurling sound. Did this for the 3rd time and water level at the bowl has gone lower.

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

Hi Terry, Because we closed the drain cover, which has decorative pebbles and it was a hassle to remove to access the manhole, we'll try flushing both loo with full buckets, to see if it raises the water on bowl.

Right, opened the manhole, for the first time did this since moving in to the house about five years ago, found nothing. Picture attached. Cleaned some soil deposit with a garden hose pipe and then put the metal lid back on.

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

I I think the daughter uses too many toilet paper, as I asked her and no wipes were put down. I'll the open manhole which is in the back garden. If it's the excess toilet paper causing the partial blockage, what can I do?

Low water level in Toilet bowl.

Thanks for the reply. This could be from the downpour from last Friday. Don't know where to look for the drain. Is it the main drain, which is in the garden patio, covered by decorative pebbles. Do I need to call a plumber to sort this out, as I'm not sure I can do this and had never opened...

New Turf laid, does it look damaged?

Hi all, I used to water every evening, but then meadow grass was growing a lot. Then I read on RHS website, it says water every 5-10 during summer as too much water encourages meadows, but I've doing it every two days. The turf is about 3 months old now. I think I should doing it every late...
