    fixing soakers

Cheers noseal, will probably remove the tiles and do it that way, I think it looks neater than the cover flashing. Can you point me towards any information on how to make a saddle, don't have a clue how i would do that.

soil against my back wall causing damp walls

Ok, have had a look into things and i don't see how i could get a french drain to discharge into that drain pipe as the drain is about a foot above the ground level. Would a simple layer of rubble, sloping away from the house underneath the top soil help move water away from the house. I...

best products for tanking a basement

I'm no expert but have been looking into this myself. It's best to use is dimpled menbrane and a sump and pump. However you can just dryline the wall and floor with menbrane without the sump and pump but there is a risk of looding. If your basement isn't prone to flooding then its up to you what...

    New Roof Flashing

What are the pro's and con's of chase flashing and stepped flashing? Also, why do some chimneys have the side flashing under the tiles and some over it? Surely if it's ove then it won't be sealing the joint where the chimney meets the roof as its meant to do. It will be sealing where the...

    New Roof Flashing

Hi guys, I was thinking of getting my roof renewed and the roofer doing my neighbours is going to give me a quote. The way he's done my neighbours chimney flashing doesn't appear to be correct and i would like your opinion on whether i should stay clear of this guy. He doesn't appear...
