Hi guys,

I have decided to re-point my basement walls to try and stop the water ingression. My house is 100 years old and the mortar has totally rotten away/fallen out in some areas.

As the property is old is it correct that i have to use an old style mortar mix to use as the new, harder mortar could damage the brickwork. Is this correct and could anyone point my in the right direction of where i could buy this.

Also, any pointers on how best to re-point my walls will be most appreciated as i have never done this before!

Thanks

:D
